AITEC, the Research Institute for Advanced Information Technology, was inaugurated in October 1995. It is a subcenter of the Japan Information Processing Development Center (JIPDEC). The two key roles of AITEC are IFS dissemination and development, and the investigation of advanced information technology (A.I.T). AITEC's Home Page:

AITEC has three departments:

FGCS Department. Mainly engaged in disseminating and developing IFS with the help of the Task Groups(TGs). Currently, only KLIC-TG is active.
Investigation Department. The role of this department is to guide the future direction of A.I.T. Research results will be published through AITEC News and other media.
General Affairs Deparment. This works on the logistics of AITEC activities, manages the budget, and so on.
