HyperBase ToolBox

Appeared in Volume 7/2, May 1994

HyperBase ToolBox is a system for integrating hypertext and Prolog code to create intelligent, interactive documents. HyperBase allows Prolog code to be 'attached' to hypertext buttons or pages, so developers can embed expert systems, advisers, diagnostic tools and the like in their documents. In addition, Prolog code can be used to 'watch' the reader interact with the document, gathering information, asking questions, identifying patterns, and so on.

The HyperBase ToolBox runs under Cogent Prolog and contains full source code for all the modules and programs, including the document developer and reader, encoder/sealer, and PCX picture utilities. It also includes four complete documents and numerous smaller samples. The ToolBox requires the latest version of Cogent Prolog (version 2.0).

HyperBase ToolBox is US$129 as an add-on for existing Cogent Prolog users, and US$377 complete with the full Cogent Prolog development system with royalty-free runtime. Existing users of the ToolBox's predecessors, HyperBase Developer and Personal HyperBase, may upgrade for US$29 and $99 respectively.
