ALS Prolog 2.0 = CLP(BNR)
Appeared in Volume 9/1, February 1996
Keywords: constraints.
ALS announces the release of CLP(BNR), which is also Version 2.0 of ALS Prolog.
This system is a Prolog development environment supporting a large array of
powerful features:
- An interval-based constraint subsystem, supporting boolean, integer (discrete
domain), and real interval types
- freeze/delay primitives
- A persistent external B-tree database subsystem
- Uniform I/O streams, supporting the console, files, sockets, strings,
symbols, and windows data streams, with support for heterogeneous text
environments (unix, dos/windows, mac line ends)
- Client-server socket-based templates
- C and C++ interfaces, with calls out from ALS Prolog, and calls in to ALS
Prolog from C/C++, with embeddability of ALS Prolog in C/C++ applications
- Interfaces to a range of windowing systems, including X Windows/Mosaic and
the Macintosh OS/Windows
- ObjectPro object-oreiented subsystem
- Hash tables and global variables
As with previous versions, no royalties are charged for distribution of
applications built with ALS Prolog.
CLP(BNR) [ALS Prolog V2] is available on:
- Most Unix platforms, including SPARC (Solaris 2.4, SunOS 4.1.3), HP/PA (HP/UX
9.0), PowerPC (AIX 4.1), Silicon Graphics (IRIX 5.2) M680x0 (NeXTStep 3.3),
I386 (Linux 2.0)
- Macintosh, System 7.0+, both PowerMac and M680x0
