General Meeting: June 1995

A general meeting of the Association was held. Bob Kowalski presented the statistics about Association membership, and Francesca Toni presented the Association accounts. Both of these were reported in the last issue of the newsletter.

Bob Kowalski announced that the Associaton logo has officially been trade marked (number1483924). The trade mark protects the use of the logo, as it appears, for example, on the Association newsletter.

Leon Sterling presented the plans for future conferences. He announced that Michael Maher had agreed to serve as programme committee chairman for JICSLP 96 in Bonn. He also asked for proposals for holding ICLP 97 and ILPS 97. (Subsequently, it was decided to hold ILPS 97 in Leuven. General chairs will be Bart Demoen and Gerda Janssens.)

Kazunori Ueda reported on the organisation of ICLP 95. He pointed out that generous support had been received from numerous scientific organisations and companies in Japan.

Because of the lack of a quorum, no Executive Commmittee meeting was held at the conference.
