ConceptBase Release 3.2

ConceptBase is a multi-user deductive object base manager - a system whose data model integrates object-oriented modeling (known from programming languages and knowledge representation) with deductive database technology. It is used at 50+ sites mainly for design and modeling purposes.

Features of Release 3.2 include:

hybrid representation of objects/classes as networks or frames
rollback time functionality
deductive rules and integrity constraints
classes, metaclasses, attributes, inheritance
X11-based user interface with several browsers/editors
client/server architecture
queries as classes with membership constraints

Main differences to Release 3.1:

3 to 8 times faster (higher factors are possible in extreme cases)
improved server reliability
attribute specialization with multiple superclasses
new hierachical browser
enhanced graphical browser with option for saving layout

A fully operational demonstrator system is available via anonymous FTP from:

Serious users can obtain a permanent version by signing a license agreement. ConceptBase needs a SUN SPARCstation running SunOS 4.1.3 and X11 Release 5.
