I've lost a pointer I had to an FTP site with lots of learning algorithms written in Prolog. Can anyone recall such a thing?

If you mean the Prolog ML Library of the German GI, it is located at:
ftp://ftp.gmd.de/gmd/mlt/ML-Program-Library/

You may have been thinking of the machine learning library of algorithms in Prolog at the Carnegie Mellon Artificial Intelligence Repository (ftp.cs.cmu.edu).

The Prolog ML Library was contributed to the Carnegie Mellon Artificial Intelligence Repository some years ago. In the meantime, I've debugged and updated some of the algorithms, and so it is probably better to obtain the code from the Prolog ML library on the German FTP server.
