Big Data Workshop

Big Data is a well-established term that refers to the collection and exploitation of large amounts of data. Big data has profoundly affected research across fields like the sciences, humanities, medicine, etc. Furthermore, it has impacted almost every domain of modern life and the economy such as health care, energy, transport, industry 4.0, and sports among others.

At KU Leuven, researchers are busy with different aspects of generating, storing, retrieving, analyzing, modeling, and visualizing large and complex data sets. The goal of this workshop is to initialize the KU Leuven Big Data Platform by bringing together the diverse groups of individuals that work in this area. The workshop will serve as a venue to share what is happening in this exciting field and foster collaboration among the different interested parties.

The workshop will take place on Thursday January 12th, 2017 from 14u00 to 18u00 in room 00.225 of 200A Celestijnenlaan. Registration is free, but compulsory.
