Following the success of the 2008 and 2010 SML Workshops, we are proud to announce the 2012 edition of this bi-annual event.
This workshop series aims at bringing together leading machine learning and data mining researchers in Europe in an informal and stimulating atmosphere, where they can report on interesting recent research results, share their vision on future developments, have stimulating discussions with peers, and start new collaborations. Following a fine tradition, we have chosen a scenic and easily accessible location in the centre of the spa town Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The town is located in the Ahr-Valley which is also known as the best German Red-Wine-Area.
The program consists of selected, full-length talks (typically non-technical, synthesizing, visionary) by senior researchers, complemented by poster sessions and short plenary spotlight presentations. It is designed in such a way as to give plenty of free time to facilitate especially this kind of informal interaction.
