WASP is formed by researchers and students doing research on the theory and implementation of Answer Set Programming, a type of declarative programming proposed by Michael Gelfond and Vladimir Lifschiz in the context of Logic Programming and Artificial Intelligence.
WASP is funded by the European commission, FET ("Forward Emerging Technologies") initiative under contract IST-FET-2001-37004.
