This project, supported by FWO-Vlaanderen involves also the KUL "Centrum voor Computerlinguïstiek", the "Vakgroep Informatica" of UIA and the "Centrum voor Nederlandse Taal en Spraak" of UIA.
The project has two main components. Firstly, the use of inductive techniques from machine learning for the extraction of linguistic knowledge from large corpora. Secondly, the use of deductive and abductive techniques for the contextual interpretation of temporal expressions.
