The project aims at the development of an inductive knowledge base for data mining in domains with rich background knowledge. The logic programming paradigm is used for the representation of the background knowledge, the data to be analysed and the discovered knowledge. Moreover it is used as an implementation language. This allows the smooth integration of the discovered knowledge with the initial knowledge, resulting in an inductive knowledge base. the project aims at contributions along three axes: implementation technology, knowledge representation for data mining and novel algorithms for data mining.
