How to publish workshop and conference collections with CoRR?

Computing Research Repository (CoRR) is an on-line web-based service sponsored by ACM, the Los Alamos e-Print archive, and NCSTRL (Networked Computer Science Technical Reference Library). Its objective is to facilitate widespread dissemination of and access to computer science papers and technical reports. CoRR provides a wide range of tools and utilities that allow researchers to upload their documents to the repository, browse and search its archives, and receive notifications about new submissions in the areas of their interest.

Association for Logic Programming (ALP) actively supports CoRR and promotes it to the logic programming community. In an effort to further increase a general awareness of the repository and its use, ALP has developed guidelines to help editors of conference and workshop proceedings to submit and post them with CoRR.

How to publish conference and workshop proceedings with CoRR?

There are only a few simple steps that editors of paper collections need to follow to have the collection posted to CoRR.

Learn about CoRR (if you are new to the repository). The best way is to visit the following sites:

Decide on the paper format - number of pages, page dimensions, font size and style, etc.

We strongly recommend that you insist on submissions in TeX/LaTeX/AMSTeX/AMSLaTeX or HTML formats. While this requirement is not critical and other formats are also supported, the open formats of TeX/LaTeX and HTML do not hide information and ensure documents in CoRR will remain highly portable and stable over time. If TeX/LaTeX is the format you choose, you may suggest to the authors to use some of the existing style files like those developed by Springer Verlag and used for its Lecture Notes publications.

Prepare and distribute instructions for authors. Sample instructions provided here can be easily modified to suit most needs.

Prepare the skeleton document for your collection. You may want to use a sample skeleton file provided below.

In the skeleton file, provide links to all papers in the collection. The URLs will be sent to you by the contributing authors (see Instructions for Authors).

For each invited talk provide the name of the author and the title of the talk (replace the appropriate line in the skeleton file). Link this text to the URL specifying the location of the paper with the talk in CoRR.
For each contributed paper provide the name of the author and the title of the paper (replace the appropriate line in the skeleton file). Link this text to the URL specifying the location of the paper in CoRR.

Upload your skeleton file to CoRR

Go to the uploads page and then follow the link to the submission form

If TeX/LaTeX submission is absolutely not possible, prepare your contribution as HTML, PDF or Postscript document. Refer to the CoRR page concerning submission formats for help.
Upload your file to CoRR.

To upload, go to the uploads page and then follow the link to the submission form
If you used Tex/LaTeX under UNIX, CoRR provides tools that greatly facilitate the process of submission of papers represented by multiple files (figures, .bbl, etc.)
Important: if TeX/LaTeX format is used, upload the Tex/LaTeX source file! PDF or Postscript files generated from the Tex/LaTeX source are not accepted by CoRR. You can indicate on the submission form whether you want to have your source file publicly available

By DD/MM/YY provide the EDITOR with the URL of your paper specifying its location in CoRR. It will be used in the proceedings to provide a link to your paper. If the URL is not provided to the EDITOR by the specified deadline your paper will not be included in the proceedings.

In case of any questions or problems, get in touch with the editors as soon as possible.
