Heiner Stuckenschmidt is professor for knowledge representation and knowledge management at the university of Mannheim, Germany. His research group is working in the area of Knowledge representation in distributed and heterogeneous environments such as the Semantic web as well as on the application of semantic web technologies in Scientific information systems. Before moving to Mannheim, he was post-doc researcher In the Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Group at the Vrije University Amsterdam where he recieved his PhD for a thesis on Ontology-based Information Sharing. He is author of a book on the same topic and editor of two other books on related topics.
